And there are currently three major competitors for the company, Toyoda Gosei Co. Ltd in Japan and Nichia Corp, as well as YAHAM, a part of Siemens.

Only 18 percent of YAHAM’s revenue was from the United States last year. And the company has expected more dramatic change in revenue from markets like China, which made up 33 percent of sales last year. "It's not growing at the rate it was, but it has remained relatively solid," Swoboda said of the China market, which he said has "a bias toward LED lighting."Composed of convex lenses stacked on concave lenses, the lens unit mounted on the led high bay light chip of the new lamps serves to illuminate a wider area of a street. The concave lens has a function to horizontally widen the light (in the direction parallel to the street) while the convex lens focuses the light so that it intensively illuminates a certain area.With the function of the lens unit, the new lamps can intensively illuminate a wider area of a street, comparing with existing LED lamps which scatter light around the spot directly under the lamp.
