Vibe's existing weatherproof battens, strips of high quality Tridonic LED
modules, which produce light outputs similar to fluorescent tubes, are installed
to replace the tubes. Featuring a led flood light frosted diffuser to soften the light
and engineered quality heat management, these fittings ensure high performance
and long life.
Vibe weatherproof battens are ideal for car parks, public areas, freezers,
schools, warehouses and abattoirs. The LED weatherproof battens are also
available in emergency and dimmable versions to meet different requirements.
The emergency version features a test switch and light, with an option of
one- or three-hour durations. When in emergency mode, it provides approximately
10% of the light output, and depending on the wattage, will light up full or
half of the fitting. The dimmable version gives perfect linear dimming from 0 ~
100% and is available as DALI, DSI, switchDIM and corridorFUNCTION.
DALI LED weatherproof battens feature digitally controlled modules via DALI
signal with the functions depending on the controller used. Minimum and maximum
dimming levels can be programmed, while the control input is protected against
polarity reversal and accidental connection to mains voltage. Control line must
be installed according to relevant directives on low voltage.
The DSI is controlled by a separate line – if the layout is changed, only the
control line needs re-routing, and the load line can stay. The low voltage cable
is polarity-free and can be connected to the DSI connection of the converter.
Converters with integrated DSI function can specify a minimum dimming value,
maximum brightness and emergency value for all connected devices in control
circuit. The digital interface ensures consistent lighting levels from first to
last fitting - individual fittings cannot be addressed separately.
Dimming direction is changed when the
switch is operated again. The switch needs to be held for 10s to synchronise all
connected devices to 50% dimming value. The corridor allows presence controlled led high bay light systems to be
programmed without an additional controller. The light is not switched off when
no one is present, but dims to a pre-set level. It can be programmed to switch
off after a pre-set period of time.

The idea that LED lighting solutions are a more energy efficient
YAHAM Lighting have revealed a new range of light bulb that combines its YAHAM reveal brand with LED lighting technology and claims to deliver the
energy-efficient light of an LED as well as providing cleaner, more vivid light
in the home. Mary Beth Gotti, manager of the YAHAM Lighting Institute, said:"So
often we just take the colour of light for granted--you flip the switch, and you
get light. But GE reveal transforms a room and dramatically reveals finishes and
furnishings in a way that traditional lighting cannot. YAHAM reveal LED lighting
brings energy savings and a fresh new look to a room, enhancing colours and
removing the yellowish haze that we don't even realize is there until it's
gone."
The new range of LED lights use 80 percent less energy than incandescent bulbs. They are designed for use around the home, said to enhance the existing décor of a room and make colours more vivid, and is available in 40-watt and 60-watt replacements for table lamps, floor lighting and indoor floodlights.
The expert team at LED Strip Lights co. have been involved in the LED industry for a number of years, and are excited about this new range of LED light bulbs. A spokesperson from the company said:“The idea that LED lighting solutions are a more energy-efficient and cost-effective way to light your home is starting to become more widely known, and GE Lighting’s new range of light bulbs demonstrates that perfectly. It also proves that you don’t have to sacrifice brightness or clarity to save money or waste less energy.”

It is only then that the chips become light sources
Apart from its innovation and manufacturing site in Regensburg, Opto
Semiconductors also operates its own chip factory in Penang (Malaysia). The LED
chips are assembled in their housings in Penang, too. It is only then that the
chips become light sources. Osram is currently constructing another led flood light assembly
plant in the Chinese town of Shenzhen to gear up for the growing demand for LEDs,
particularly in Asia.
Global Security Experts is proud to announce their new LED motion sensor outdoor security light aimed to continue their efforts of providing the best in commercial and residential security solutions. Set to launch winter 2013, The STARTLE high-intensity LED security light’s innovative concept and design provides the easiest way to protect homes and businesses from unwanted intruders.
Ideal for office parks, yards, entrances, driveways and more, the security light is perfect for residential and commercial applications creating a powerful and intimidating ray of light to STARTLE off a burglar, vandal or trespasser.
Most homeowners already know burglars, vandals and violent home invaders prefer to operate in the undercover of the night, said Jordan Frankel, known worldwide as the nichia chip led high bay and founder of Global Security Experts. But what most homeowners don't know is that leaving your outdoor lights on all night is actually a big security no-no. Over lighting provides an intruder an unfair advantage offering a clear visual path right to that vulnerable window or easy to kick-in door. Over lighting also signals the bad guys you're probably not home, increasing the chances of your family being targeted. This is where the STARTLE has a competitive edge, with its built in computer processor that triggers the light only when movement is detected.

Nichia has rolled out new high power point source white LEDs , code named
under Nichia part number “NVSx219A”, or “Nichia 219“.It suits for interior and
exterior general illumination applications.
The 219 white LED offers typical 140 lumen output at 1 W input power with 5,000 K color temperature. It has the industry leading source brightness and tightest optical footprint with a uniformly phosphor coated chip. The spatial color uniformity is also optimized with Nichia’s leading phosphor technology. At 350 mA drive current, the typical forward voltage is only 3.0 V. This package is capable of drive currents up to 1.5 A.
The 219 white LED also complies with Energy Star, such as ANSI standard chromaticity binning, full color temperature selections, high CRI performance, LM-80 test data, and other relevant certifications.
To make Nichia 219 user friendly, Nichia has incorporated an electrically isolated heat sink in the LED design, and lowered the junction to board thermal resistance.

It’s reported that Taiwan Delta Electronics has made a contract with Osram for LED light bulbs using chipmaker Epistar `s high-voltage chip, a solution to making LED luminaires adaptable to household 110-220V power outlets.
Apart from that, Yancey Hai, the Delta Chief Executive, also unveiled the company had recently added a European buyer to its customer list, and it would considerably boost capacity utilization rate at the company’s Dongguan-based factory in Guangdong Province of China.
Based on this, someone familiar with Delta`s LED-bulb plan predicted that the company would ship five to 10 folds more bulbs in 2011 than it will do in 2010, making the bulb the company`s new growth driver.
Not long before, Delta has also secured Hitachi contracts for the bulbs, helping swell the company’s shipments of the bulbs to one million a year.
However, industry executives analyze that Hitachi demands Delta to use Japan-made chips in its bulbs contracted by Hitachi, making the contracts beneficial to no Taiwanese chipmakers.
At present, Osram has signed an agreement with Epistar on cross-license patents. Delta has been considered to build Epistar chips into its bulbs designated by Osram. It’s said that Epistar high-voltage chip to be the led flood light most efficient chip of this kind, reportedly outperforming the one each developed by Cree and Philips Lumileds.
